Synopsis: Construction workers find a rat-eaten, naked, stabbed body. The knee-caps were surgically removed, and sent by mail to Bones, loaded with Gormogon (extinct secret cannibalistic society) clues. It's Douglas Cooper, vicar-general of Washington D.C.'s archbishop Stephen Wallace, on sabbatical to write an esoteric book on pagan rites and early Christianity. The anti-masonic Gormogon symbolism spells an incredibly complex clues cascade Zach relishes in, and reveals the work of a second, much older killer, who apprenticed the dead one. Booth brings in Sweets, who proves smart and helpful in the ensuing, dangerous battle of wits. |
