	Synopsis: Inspector Jean Claude Fornier is visiting Hawaii in honor of Magnum winning the award for the best private investigator of the year. Just as Fornier is about to present the award to Magnum, the inspector collapses. When Inspector Fornier's death is ruled a murder, Magnum is determined to find those responsible. Before long Magnum finds he has some unwanted help. Luther Gillis and, one time meter maid turned private investigator, Tracy Spencer, are also on the case. Magnum tries to blow them off while he follows a lead from Fornier's notebook and comforts Carrol on the death of her lover. Magnum discovers Fornier's true mission on the islands was to investigate an international drug smuggling ring involving the Richard Lindley detective agency, Spencer's employer. As Magnum investigates further, evidence begins to point to the involvement of Spencer herself.
