	Synopsis: Burt Renshaw has been looking for his niece Maureen on behalf of a New York lawyer James Grove. Maureen was left on an orphanage's doorstep by his brother just as he was shipping out with the navy in World War II. The child's mother, who at the time was unfit to raise a child, now wants to be reunited with her daughter. Renshaw is certain that he's found her, Maureen Thomas, who works as an airline hostess. Maureen is initially uninterested but is engaged to a man from a well-to-do family. When he meets them, she finds herself very interested in having her own family history to share. Grove, however, seems to have found another woman claiming to be the long lost Maureen and Renshaw asks Perry Mason to help out. When Renshaw is found dead after claiming he has information no one else has, Maureen Thomas is charged with his murder and Perry defends her. The solution to the case may come down to a polka dot horse doll the girl had as a child in a picture.
