Synopsis: Inspector John River sees what he explains to psychologist Rosa Fallows as being 'manifestations', dead people with whom he can converse, notably his colleague Stevie, shot whilst on duty, but also Thomas Cream, a Victorian poisoner and Erin, a young girl whose boyfriend Aten was accused of her murder but whom River is able to help. At a press conference regarding Stevie's murder, River's odd behaviour alarms his superiors DCI Chrissie Read and Marcus McDonald when he sees another 'manifestation', a young robber whom he pursued to his death and who possibly killed Stevie. |
